I didn't know where I was going with this halter, but I knew I wanted to start with a tube top. I added the straps and then put the pineapple skirt on it. Gracie absolutely adores this. She says she looks bee-u-tee-full in it. I have to agree with her, she does look great in it.
Here's a hat to match the scarf and stole. It turned out a lot smaller than I thought it would, but it sure looks cute on Gracie. I made it again using a larger hook so it fits adults. I haven't typed up the pattern yet, but will soon.
Please don't think I'm being rude or anything, but I will no longer be trying to answer each comment made on this blog. I do not get notified by the blog host when comments are posted. I am, however, able to view the last 10 comments left but then I have to try to locate the entry they were left in in order to respond. I hope you understand.
I will continue to try to reply to each comment left in the "tag board" on the left side column.
I love reading your comments and will be glad to answer questions, but please contact me with your questions by using the "email me" link on the left. Thanks so much.
I'm trying to finish a hat to match the sunburst stole/scarf I just posted, but I'm having a little problem with my hands and arm (again). Apparently crocheting is going to be a pain for me now. I hope I can work through it. I'd hate to think I have to give it up completely.
Skill: intermediate…this is an easy pattern to do but I rated it intermediate because you need to know how to do a treble crochet.
Stitches: chain (ch); single crochet (sc); double crochet (dc); treble crochet (tr); Abbreviations used: sk – skip; ea – each; sts – stitches; sp(s) – space(s); Here's a link to Annie's Attic stitch guide http://www.anniesattic.com/crochet/content.html?type_id=S
Yarn: any medium weight yarn will work. I used Mainstays, Walmart's brand, now discontinued.
Stole used 10 oz of mainstays (I had 2 8oz skeins) Scarf used 4 oz of mainstays (about ˝ of 1 8oz skein)
Hooks: L/11-8 mm for starting chain and K/10.5-6.50 mm for pattern.
Gauge: I don't know, didn't think it would matter much since they're just rectangles and you can make them as long and wide as you want.
Pattern is worked in multiple of 18 + 8

Thank you to everyone who has expressed concern over my disappearance. I really appreciate your thoughts. I've been avoiding my hooks and my computer. I got in a funk and couldn't drag myself out of it. I am OK though, no real health problems, but I did have a minor surgery the first of the month. Nothing to worry about and it's already healed. The bad shoulder I was experiencing has improved tremendously since I got the cortisone shot. It's still sore, but no where near as bad as it was. At it's worse, my right arm was nearly useless.
I'm sorry if you left me comments and I didn't reply to you. I'll try to answer as many as I can find, but it would be easier if you could leave me another message or email me at bythehook7647 (at) yahoo (dot) com. I promise I'll answer your email.
Gracie is still living with us and I think she's part of the reason I don't spend as much time on the computer and with my hooks as I used to. I'd forgotten how much fun it was to have a child around all the time. She's even got grandma going shopping again. We have a regular routine now, we get up very early and take her Dad to work, then we go to Burger King for breakfast and she plays on the playground for awhile and then we go shopping or home depending on how grandma feels. I have got her back to taking afternoon naps but we don't call them naps, we call it "quiet time". She gives grandma 2 hours quiet time every afternoon. Such a good little girl.
I'll try to do better about keeping up this blog. I don't mean to worry anyone. Thanks again for caring enough to worry about me. You will never know how much that means.
Gracie saw the army guy and wanted an army girl, only she didn't want camo, she wanted "all the colors" for her shirt and "all the colors" for her hair. I ended up making this using the same clown pattern as the army guy. I added a skirt and long hair down to her behind. She's got on green shorts and orange shoes. I guess she's of the "new" army. Curly Clown
This guy is made from a really cute clown pattern that I made years ago and just ran across again recently. I was still looking for something the grandsons could wrestle with and this one is big enough for them to really have some fun wollering around on the floor with him. Don't mind his goofy look, I still can't do faces. Curly Clown
Hello Kitty is just as cute made up as she is in all the pictures I've ever seen of her. What a fun project I loved the pattern and didn't have any problems with it at all. I did make the arms larger than the pattern called for and like mine better. Hello Kitty
OK, so I've got grandsons and they like camouflage, what more can I say. I saw this little candy corn guy and decided to try him as a wrestling partner for the grandsons. Boy did I get a surprise when it turned out to be only about 6" tall. Really cute, but not quite the wrestling fun I had imagined. I sent this one home to the great grandson as a crib toy. It's just the right size and oh so soft! Candy Corn Pattern
I finally succumbed to the amigurumi craze and made this little frog. He was fun and easy to do and Gracie snatched him up as soon as I snapped his picture. You'll find this pattern at RoxyCraft.
