Dot i was looking for a hat pattern for my hubby and came across your Eastwood hat. I just love it and I know my hubby will. He's a very picky guy when it comes to crochet stuff. I know this is one he will proudly wear! It's just his style!

You're welcome...I think. lol I'm glad to know there are some guys out there that actually might wear this. I'd sure love to see pictures if and when you do make this for them.

Thank you, Tina. I wish you could have made it for him for his school theme day, that would have been great. I'm glad your middle son is getting one though. I'd love to see it in the red with the black stripe. I bet it's going to be beautiful.

Hi Dot- My son is having a Theme Celebration in school today; it's Mexico. I said, "I wish you would have told me two weeks ago, I could have made you a Clint Eastwood poncho", then I showed him this page on your site. He said "Can you make it by tomorrow?" LOL!! I am making one for the middle son, now, though. He wants it in red, with a black stripe through the middle "and that's all". :) Thank you for sharing your wonderful designs, you are so talented. Maybe someday when my kids are older I will have time to think of some more designs, too.

You're welcome. What a nice employee you are making that for your boss. Are you looking for a raise? lol

Thanks for clarifying. I thought it was a solid color! Duh on me! LOL
I am making this for my boss and he saw the pic and said, "hey, I like that. So I guess it's back to the store!!! :)
Happy Crocheting and Thanks again

Hi Cheryl, Holly Berry is an ombre yarn. The hunter green is solid and the buff is solid, but the Holly Berry is a multicolored yarn. You can use any colors you want. You can follow my striping patterns or you can make it all solid, it's totally up to you. The poncho pictured is exactly as you see it. It's done in green, black, holly berry and buff stripes. I hope I answered your question. If not, let me know and I'll try it again. I'm anxious to see how yours turns out.

Hi, I am working on this(on row 13 now) as we speak, but I am a little confused. The part where the multicolors are, is that individual stitches, or is that an ombre yarn??? The pattern doesn't seem clear on that. Is this a solid color garment, or is it exactly as the picture shows?? HELP!
Thanks. | |

Thank you, Andrea. No, I haven't done any like this for babies, but I bet it would be cute. Thanks for the idea.
 | | | Andrea March 2, 2005 06:47 PM PST
Dot, this is a fun pattern. Have you ever worked up something like this for an infant/toddler boy? Seems like it would be cute for them too. Love all your patterns, thanks for sharing your talents.

I got the idea for this poncho when you asked me about making something for Amy to keep her warm. I told you to make an afghan and work a slit in the center of it. Remember? After that I just had to try it myself. As for all the other designs, I don't know where they're coming from. Once I learned to make a hat, all hats are basically the same. I just put different stitches together. I'm ALWAYS surprised at what comes off my hook. Sometimes while I'm making one hat, another one will come to mind.
I don't think I'm any more talented than you, I just have way more time to work on crocheting than you do.
I hope you share a picture of your Eastwoodly Poncho when you finish it. Love you bunches.

Sis, where do you keep coming up with all these beautiful ideas? I am so impressed that you are designing crochet apparel - and not just funky stuff, but really cool fashions. I'm going to make this poncho and send it to Amy for one of her friends. You are the talented one in our family, obviously!

You're welcome, Susan, I enjoy sharing my patterns with you. I hope your husband enjoys his new poncho.

I think I'll try making this out of a wool blend yarn. It would make a great poncho to keep around for camping trips and trips to the mountains or the beach. I wouldn't mind having one myself. But I think I will make it for my husband. Thanks for sharing your creativity, Dot!
