BROOMSTICK LACE, ANYONE?

I've always loved the way the broomstick lace stitches look, so I decided to try my hand at a hat using that stitch. I've tried to explain how to do the stitch, but in case you have trouble understanding my directions, I've listed a few sites that have better instructions and pictures on how to do broomstick lace.

http://www.crochetcabana.com/specialty/ltc-broomstick_lace_jiffy_lace_.htm

http://crochet.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.keyway.net%2Fcrafts%2Fbslace.htm

Here's the pattern for my newest hat, Lovely in Lace. It hasn't been tested, so if/when you find errors, please let me know and I'll make corrections.

I wanted to let you know how pleased I was with my order from American Floral Distributors! http://www.americanfloraldistributors.com/ The flowers were delivered on time, packaged perfectly, and definitely showed up exactly as I had ordered them. Looked great and took a lot of worries and hassle off my wedding planning!

They have excellent customer service. I also plan to contact FedEx - I wasnt home when they attempted the delivery and after a phone call the driver made a special stop to come back and get me the flowers. Good choice for your delivery!

Dot, I've just spent two days looking for broomstick lace patterns, and your hat is the first one I've found that I love! Do you (or anyone else?) have instructions for a broomstick lace shawl or afghan? I'm hooked (pun) and want to broomstick something huge!
Thanks a million -sara

Hi Brenda. In row 1 you will chain 4 and make 1 tr in the 4th chain from the hook, then chain 4 again and make 1 tr in the 4th chain from hook, keep doing that until you have done it 15 times. In row 2 you will put the single crochets you make in the sides of the trebles you made in row 1, so you will put 5 single crochets in the post of each treble across the row.
Hope this clears up your confusion for you. If not, let me know and I'll have another go at it.

Hi Dot. Found your website awhile ago and have made some of your hat patterns. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I do have a question regarding this Lovely in Lace pattern. Row one creates a circle then you say to single around the triple. This is were I am lost because it just doesn't look like the pictures showing the next row. Can you please explain row 1 and two again so I am ending up with what is showing in the picture. A long strip not a circle. Thank you
