Hi Dot, your site was one of the first I came to for crochet patterns when I began crocheting again, I just love it! I have a question about the pattern referenced in the comments I pasted below. The site is no longer available, and I need a long stocking hat pattern. Do you happen to have a copy of it or know where the pattern is hosted now? Thanks!

Hi Trudy, I'm glad you like my site. Here's a link to a stocking hat I've made before. It turned out real cute. I didn't stripe it, but made it in red and white so it could be worn as a Santa hat.

Dot
I was looking for a good hat pattern and I found one. Thank you so much for posting your patterns. I made the Sassy A hat the other night when I found this web site it only took me 3 hours to make the hat. I used sugar and spice cotton thread in beige and it turn out beautiful but a little short for my head so I'm giving it to my Mama she will love it. I am making some adjustments to your pattern to fit me better. Your patterns are very easy to follow usually I have to reverse write patterns to be able to follow them since I am left handed this one I did not have to do that with. Wonderful work thank you

Hi Dot! I am so glad I found your website and all your wonderful patterns! Thank you for sharing your gift!
I am thinking of trying my hand at this Sassy A pattern. Do you think this would work well with Caron Simply Soft -- It'll be worn with the brim down.
Thanks!!! :) |

CROCHET! I'm hooked, pardon the pun. I came across this site and it's wonderful. Hats off to you for sharing patterns and your guiding advice for us novices. I'm looking for a stocking cap pattern to make for my son. Can you give me direction or a link? |

Yay! I'm so happy for you, Julie B. Your hat sounds so interesting. I'd love to see a picture of it. I bet your mom will really enjoy wearing it. |

I did it! I did it! My very first hat!
Of course, I couldn't leave well enough alone, and made a few adjustments....
I used a double strand of Microspun (single strand was too light and limp), a size J hook, and increased the crown portion to 7 rounds. It is beautiful! my mom wanted a "plain black hat" without fur or sparkles, and I thought the yummy microspun made a lovely, soft hat, that is warm but not bulky or stocking hat style. The pattern was SO simple to follow, as well as alter for size. I will definately be doing more of your patterns, Dot! |

Thank you, Brooke, glad you like my patterns. You can do this hat with cotton yarn, but the brim will very floppy. I actually have it done in a salt and pepper cotton and I love it. |

Hi! All of these patterns are SO beautiful! Thanks for sharing. I am wondering if I can make this Sassy A hat with cotton yarn. I bought some to practice knitting washcloths and found out that knitting is not my thing. Thanks! |
