Girrrrrl, I have just spent about four hours looking at ponchos on the net. You by far are the most talented individual out there. What a gift. I see this one on a movie star in a slip dress. How glam would that be?

Hi Dot,

You have the best crochet website ever! I'm pretty new to crochet but I want to attempt the Peaks and Valley's poncho. In the 'materials' section you say we'll need a stitch marker. I've never used one, and I don't see you refer to it in the pattern- will I know where to use it? Thanks :)

P.S. Notice we have the same last name... got any family from central England? That's were my hubby's family is from but we're in Canada now.

Hi Dot, first off, thanks for sharing your talented creations with the rest of us. They're all so beautiful. Right now, I'm working on the Peeks & Valleys poncho and have run into a slight problem. Round 5 says the stitch count should be 207 sc, but I come up with 208 sc (7 sc in 26 ch-8 lps = 182 plus 1 sc in ea of 26 sc = 208. This also throws off round 6, so at the end of rnd 6, I just did (sc next 2 st tog) 3 times instead of twice. From there, everything went fine. Just wanted to let you know about the stitch count in rnd 5. Thanks again for your gorgeous patterns! --Rita Miller

Hi Wendella, thank you, I'm glad you like my site. If you're half way thru this piece, you've passed all the increase rows. I didn't block mine so I don't think it's important to the piece.

Hi Dot,
I love your website and patterns! I am halfway thru this poncho and was wondering if there is an increase ? and if blocking is important to the finished piece as mine is working as a straight piece and the picture you have shows a bell shape. Thanks!
