I love pineapple patterns and sooo glad I found yours. I made the poncho in the Caron yarn, a bright spring sage. It is just beautiful! Now all I need is Spring to wear it! Thanks.

Gorgeous poncho! Someone suggested making it into a skirt. I'd have to add a few chains to the neck, but could work. And this would be a gorgeous skirt.
Thanks so much for sharing your talent!~

Hi Earline, I'm glad she enjoys my patterns. I'm afraid I can't help with the problem on the sweater poncho, I don't do well with points. As you can see, most of my ponchos are round and not pointed. Have you tried contacting the designer? That's what I'd suggest. Hope you can get it figured out. Good luck.

Hi Christie, thank you. I don't have a matching hat for this poncho, but that's a great idea. Let me see what I can come up with. I'd love to see a picture of your poncho when you finish it.

I love the Pleasing Pineapples Poncho. I'm currently making it using LionBrand Homespun Quartz and K hook. Thanks for sharing the pattern. Do you have a hat that would match it? Thanks again.

Well, thank you very much, Sarah. I think you might be my youngest guest so far. Pleasing Pineapples is a one of my more difficult patterns. If you get so stuck you just can't go on, send me an email through my "contact me" form and I'll try to help you with it.

Hi Joy Abbott, tell Leah thank you for me. I appreciate the referrals.
I'm sorry you can't see the pictures, I have a few other readers who have the same problem. I think it's something to do with firewalls or some type of virus protector on your pc. Anyway, you might be able to view the picture in my photo albums. Here's a link to the pineapple poncho. http://photobucket.com/albums/v144/bythehook7647/?action=view¤t=PleasingPineapplesPoncho.jpg
Here's a link to my photo album with pictures of all my patterns. Hope you can see it. http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=4197299&a=31316916&f=

Hi Charl, glad you like this poncho, it's one of my favorites. I don't really know how to downsize the pattern, but some people have had luck with using smaller hooks and in some cases smaller yarn (like baby weight). I think if I were going to do this myself, I'd try using a G or H hook and see how that looks. As long as the poncho fits over your child's head and does not hang off her shoulders, it should work out fine.
You can try using shorter chain to begin with, but make sure the number of scs you have at the end of round 9 is divisable by 15.
 | | | Joy Abbott August 8, 2005 08:36 AM PDT
Leah gave the link for this pattern in CrochetPatterns@yahhogroups.com but although I can see the pattern which I've got to alter the stitches (as I live in the UK) so they make sense to me, I can't see any of the pictures - so I'll have to take Leah's word when she says its beautiful won;t I
 | | | charl August 8, 2005 07:27 AM PDT
dot ... it's beautiful. and so feminine that it tempts me to make it for my princess granddaughters ... how would you down size it for a 6-7 year old?
 | | | Dot August 7, 2005 04:24 PM PDT
Carolynne, I've always been partial to pineapples, too. I hope you enjoy this pattern. I had a lot of fun watching it come together.

Dot,
This is my favorite by far from you. It's a gorgeous piece. I'm definitely doing this one for myself. Will there be a matching hat?? I just had to ask. Call me greedy.
Thanks again. | |
