Fasten off and weave in ends.

Make the 2nd one just like the first one.

Or…if you're tired of this project and want to move on, make a chain and attach it
to the larger end like a loop so you can hang it up and use it as a grocery bag
keeper.

CUSTOM FIT
Measure around the leg, just below the knee.
Follow the pattern instructions for the top ribbing and stop when it's 1" shorter than that measurement. Make sure your number of rows in the ribbing is divisible by 8.
Measure the length of the leg from just below the knee to the ankle.
Follow the pattern instructions until the leg is as long as that measurement, end with a row 6.
Follow the instructions for the ankle ribbing.
You will have a leg warmer that will fit the intended leg. Remeber that if you are working from the custom fit measurements your stitch count at the end of rows will be different from what is written in my pattern.

I just made 2 pairs of these in baby pink for some of my little girls in ballet class. They will love them! I used the customize option and it worked out perfectly. Your directions were so clear and easy. Thanks!

Hi Dot,
I made the little ditty bag and love it. I used lionbrand black suede and fancied it up a bit with a antique rhinestone button. I used it for a special party and it was perfect. I just put it on my wrist and carried it all night. Thanks for the pattern, I'm making them for friends for Christmas..

I always know that when I see Crochet by the hook pop up in my browser that no matter the pattern, it will be unique and beautiful. When I saw these I immediately thought of my mother in law. A perfect gift! Thank you so much.

I'm glad you'll be able to put these leg warmers to good use. Just don't get too cold while you're working outside. You're welcome for the ribbing lesson, but I didn't invent this procedure, I just added pictures to something I learned from somewhere. I sure like it a lot better than the front/back post ribbing.

This is definitely on my to-do list as soon as I finish the Ribbed Ski Hat and another afghan I'm working on, they'll be perfect to wear under my pants to keep my legs warm when I have to work outside this winter.

And thanks for the ribbing lesson, I knew there was a way to make ribbing on a project without making it seperately but I never got around to trying it myself, looks like you beat me to it :)

Dot, every time I come to your site I marvel at your talent. I took the liberty to post the URL to my Brazilian crochet list - and although few of the girls were able to read English, all of them loved your site also.

I'm glad you can get some good use out of this pattern, Erin. I hope your mother's knee heals real soon. It must be so hard on her to try to walk around.

This will come in handy. My mom just had knee surgery and cant stand to wear pants over her incision on her knee yet...maybe if I make her some legwarmers the lower half of her legs will at least stay warm. I'll have to find some yarn that matches the colors of her 5 pairs of Ugg boots.
