SIZE: Fits most adult heads
SKILL: Easy
HOOK: J/10-6.00mm - I used a Susan Bates Hook
YARN: Bernat Baby Coordinates, sport weight, color Peach; approx. 1 oz/80 yds
GAUGE: 7 dc=2" and 3 dc rows=2"
STITCHES: chain (ch); single crochet (sc); double crochet (dc); slip stitch (sl st)
ABBREVIATIONS: ea = each; sk = skip; sp = space; sps = spaces

INSTRUCTIONS

ROUND 1: ch 3(counts as 1 dc), 11 dc in first ch. Join in first dc, place marker in join. (12 dc)

ROUND 2: ch 2, 2 dc in same st as join, *2 dc in next st. Repeat from * around. End with dc in join of previous round. Remove marker. Join in first dc. (24 dc)

ROUND 3: ch 2, 2 dc in same st as join, *dc in next st, 2 dc in next st. Repeat from * around. Join in first dc. (36 dc)

ROUND 4: ch 2, 2 dc in same st as join *dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st. Repeat from * around. End with dc in last st. Join in first dc. (48 dc)

ROUND 5: ch 2, 2 dc in same st as join, *dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st. Repeat from * around. End with dc in last 2 sts. Join in first dc. (60 dc)

ROUND 6: ch 1, sc in same st as join, *ch 5, sk next 3 sts, sc in next st. Repeat from * around. Join in first sc. (15 ch-5 sps)

ROUND 7: sl st in next ch-5 sp, ch 2 (counts as first dc) 6 dc in same ch-5 sp, sk next sc, *sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 5, sk next sc, sc in next ch-5 sp, sk next sc, ** 7 dc in next ch-5 sp, sk next sc. Repeat from * around. End last repeat at **. Join in beg ch. (5 groups of dc)

ROUND 8: sl st in next st, ch 1, sc in same st, *ch 5, sk next 3 sts, sc in next st ch 5, sk next dc and sk next sc sc in next ch-5 sp ch 5, sk next sc and sk next dc, sc in next st. Repeat from * around. Join in first sc. (15 ch-5 sps)

ROUND 9: Repeat round 7

ROUND 10: Repeat round 8

ROUND 11: Repeat round 7

ROUND 12: ch 1, sc in same st as join, sc in next 6 dc, *sc in next sc, 5 sc in next ch-5 sp, sc in next sc, ** sc in next 7 dc. Repeat from * around. End last repeat at **. Join in first sc.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

This looks so cute, Dot! I'm going to make it for the hat exchange over at Crochetville! I came to your site KNOWING I'd find something for my partner who likes close fitting hats like cloches or scullies!
