This is a recreation of one of my earlier patterns. I never posted it before because it is so close to the Very Berry pattern I decided not to post it, but Clare saw a picture of it in my photo albums and asked for the pattern. So, this one's for you Clare. It's not exactly like the picture you saw, but it's the best I can do. I hope it's to your liking.

Dot, Is there anyway you can link me to a page that translates all the crochet terminology for this hat? I've been trying to find websites, but they are kind of confusing. My mom knows how to crochet but she doesn't know the terminology. So please? if you will, thank you so much, i would love to make this hat.

I also would like to add please ignore the jerks who don't have talent of there own who is looking to copy your work or else why would they be here in the first place. keep up the excellent work!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the lovely beret pattern. My mum was shopping in town she saw a beret. When she had a closer look she thought I could do a lot better than that. This pattern looks nicer. It makes a change when you can do something for your Mum. It's a lot personal when you make something for someone else. There is a prblem though she now wants a scarf to go with it. Thank you again

Dear Dot, Like I said above, I have been using your patterns for at least a year now to make caps for cancer patients. I never dreamed I would need them myself. I have just been told I have cervical cancer and will need a hyst, chemo and radiation. They are pretty sure the cancer has spread to other places but there are alot more tests to find out for sure. I have been told I will probably lose my hair, so will be aking a bunch of caps for myself. Thanks again for all the patterns. Cathy

Hi Rachel, Thank you, I'm glad you like it. It's actually made in a sage green color. My camera hates green and always turns it to gray. I don't remember the yarn I used, but I'm pretty sure it would have been red heart super saver, as I do most of my hats with red heart super saver.
How wonderful that you have your mom to share her crochet talent with you. I hope you know how lucky you are to have her.
Spike says, Arf! He loves to hear his name in my blog.

Hi Dot!I'm 16-going-on-17 and I love crocheting!
Dot, I love this hat SO much! Well, I boughten yarn because I wanted to make a beret. I looked all over the internet for one and then I found yours. By the way, I LOVE the color you used for this hat, is it like a pewter gray? I love that color, what brand of yan did you use?
Anyways, my mom's a great crocheter, so she showed my what stiches to use in each row and how many, because I'm still learning how to read crocheting directions. I'm a quick crochet learner and before I knew it I was making this hat all by myself, reading the directions and everything! I made myself a light gray one(imagine that!Gray, and I hadn't even found your pattern yet when I bought it!) and I wear it every day! I made my little sister one, and another for myself and a lady I work with saw me wearing mine and she said, "Rachel, I just love your hat. Can you make me one for my little niece Naomi? She's 3 and she'd love that!" Weird thing is, my little sis is named Naomi and she's 4!
Thank-you Dot! I'm going to keep this pattern forever!LOL!
B.t.w. Spike is the cutest thing ever! I've always wanted a boston terrier.

Clair, highlight the pattern only, click on file, then click on print, then when you printer dialog box opens up, click on selection. Then print. Be sure the pattern remains hightlighted when you open your printer. That's the best way to print just the pattern.

Is there a way you could create
your patterns to copy so you do not have just the pattern and not
all the extra words not related to the patterns?
It waists a lot of paper.
Love your lovel patterns and hope someday tobe able to crochet
them. I am re learning how to crochet. I learned the basic stitches as a teen-ager, but did not learn to read the patterns. I have copied from the web instructions on how to read the patterns. I am in the process of making Pony tail
holders.
Thanks a lot.
Clara

Thank you Carol-Ann, for your wonderful compliments and for thinking of me for the calendar. I have submitted several designs to them already and look forward to seeing them on the calendar. I, too, have discovered what a great group of people crocheters are. So friendly, sharing and caring people. It's great to hear from you. I hope you come back again.

Thank you for your wonderful patterns. Your site is one of the best.
Thought you might be interested - if you don't already know - that on pattern central there is a new chullo hat from Art Yarns (53rd pattern in left hand side list) that is linked to a major project for a 2006 Crochet Calendar. You can submit patterns and will receive the calendar when complete plus publicity on web site etc and retain design rights to your pattern. I thought of you as I was looking up 'hats' on pattern central.
I am from England and I do so envy your choice of yarns and patterns for crochet. Crochet has never taken off as well as knitting in England so I rely on my American 'Cousins' for inspiration! I just drool when I see the choice of yarns you have and at such reasonable prices too.
And what wonderful human beings crocheters are! Thank you so much.
