Hi Katie. I'm glad you were able to complete the hat. Sorry it turned out so small.

I wish I'd seen this before I embarked on the hat! But I got there in the end - and once you realise how to do it, it all seems so obvious and simple. Thanks for taking the time to help people out.

Sadly, my hat (which you can see on my site) turned out far too small. I remade it with a larger hook, but it was still too small so I had to give up in the end. I think I crochet too tight!

Hi Laura, I'm glad you didn't give up. If you have any questions about my patterns, I'll be happy to help you if I can. Good Luck with your projects.

I bought the Crochet pattern-a-day calendar for 2006 and was about to give up on this hat when I couldn't figure out the flowers, but I'm glad I visited the website listed with the pattern! Now I think I'll be able to finish all four hats that I'm making for myself and my friends!

I have made several of your hats. Then I lost the addy and could not for the life of me remember the name. Just that you had a lot of hats. I finally found it. I just love this site.

for the person who's having the problem with the seventh round: I be this is what it is... I was having a hard time, too, until I read that you had to end round 6 with a repeat of step 3.
That way, you have enough "petals" on the flower.

I don't know if this will help you or not, but this is the site I learned to do this stitch from. http://www.planetshoup.com/easy/crochet/flower_st.shtml
Hope this helps.

Hi Dot,
The beginning of the next flower round. After that I'm fine. I don't know what that part gives me the worst troubles. I think it's because I'm thinking too hard.......lol
I do love the hats and I am so sure my neice's will too.
Thanks for putting up with me.

Thanks This is great. I had troubles with the beginning of the 7th round. Do you have any tutorial for that? I understood the 6th round just fine. It's the beginning of the 7th I get stuck on.

Thanks,
I'll check back later for updates.

Thank you, Celeste, I'm glad you like this pattern. It's one of my favorites, too. That's good to know about the change in size by the change in the stitch. Thanks for the information. I'd like to pass it on the the readers if you don't mind.

What a great idea. I did get a bit confused myself when I did the hat and it did not help that I used homespun so the stitches were harder to see. But after a few trys I understood what you meant to be done. Your really design nice things and your instructions are terrific!
