(sc, dc) in next st. Repeat from * to last 2 sts,
sk next st, sc in last st. ch 1, turn. (185 sts)

ROW 2 thru 17: Repeat row 1 – you will be skipping the dc's and placing stitches in the sc's.

At end of row 17, count 74 stitches from one end of scarf, place a marker in the 74th stitch. Do the same on the other end. The marked stitches and the stitches in between is where the looped stitches will go.

ROW 18: Repeat row 1 to the first marker.
insert hook in next st (with the marker),
with index finger of hand holding yarn, pull up a long loop about 1".
Keep your finger in the loop and place the hook behind the yarn and grab both strands of loop and pull thru st (you will have 3 loops on hook and your finger stuck in the loop), now slip your finger out of the loop and hold it (the loop, not your finger) down out of your way, yo pull yarn thru the 3 loops on hook. (loop st made) – move marker up to the loop st. Make a loop stitch in each stitch from marker to marker. move marker up to the last loop st made.

GRACIE'S SCARF

UPDATE: I'm working on writing up a pattern for this scarf right now and hope to have it ready to post by the end of the week.

How about just a show and tell for a change. I made this scarf yesterday for my granddaughter, Gracie, for Christmas. I'm not sure I'll write up a pattern for it. I don't know how to explain the loop stitch so I'm stumped on how to write the pattern.

Gracie's Scarf Gracie's Scarf

It's made with Red Heart Super Saver, color 0317 Reef Stripe. Took just slightly more than a 6 oz skein.

SHOW AND TELL

DOT'S HALL OF FAME
I love getting pictures from people showing me projects they made from my patterns and I want to share them with everyone else. I decided to set up another blog just for show and tell. If you have pictures you'd like to share email me at bythehook7647 at yahoo dot com (no spaces of course) and attach your pictures and tell me a little something about your project. Be sure to tell me you want to share your picture in Dot's Hall of Fame. I moved some of the show and tell from this blog to the new blog. I decided to start with the pictures I've received in the last few weeks. If you've sent pictures before and would like to have them included in the new Dot's Hall of Fame, please send them again and I'll be sure to post them. Thanks everyone, I love hearing from you. Happy hookin'!

THE NEW CROCHET

Now I can finally say I've been published. I received my copy of The New Crochet by Terry Taylor today and I was thrilled, to say the least. I was so excited when Terry first contacted me about publishing one of my patterns and totally amazed by his choice of patterns to publish.

Does anyone remember this...

Half Looped Hat

Terry wanted it done in another color and yarn, so here's what I submitted to him...

Baroque Half Looped

He put it in his book...

The New Crochet

on page 32, and here it is...

Published at Last

Hats look so much better on people than on foam heads.

Now, if only my 2006 Pattern a Day Calendar would arrive.

PROBLEM SEEING PICTURES?

If you can't see the pictures in my patterns, try this.

Click on TOOLS on the menu bar

click on INTERNET OPTIONS

click on the ADVANCED tab

scroll down to MULTIMEDIA

Make sure there is a check mark in the SHOW PICTURES block.
if there isn't one, click on the box and then click on OK. That should fix your problem.

One of my readers said this fixed her problem. I wish I could remember who it was, but unfortunately I deleted her email instead of saving it. I have a problem with clicking the wrong buttons at the wrong times.

The following are pictures of the Lil' Darlin' Sweater made by people who have tested this pattern.

Patty in MI said...I made the Lil Darling sweater. It is adorable, and so easy to follow the directions. It only took 2 partial days. Hope you like it. You may put it in your site if you want. Patty in MI
